Are you talking about the MIDI mapping table or the MIDI learn wizard?

The MIDI learn wizard changes the controller live while the MIDI mapping tables only change the controller after "apply" is clicked.

We should probably change the mapping tables to also create temporary input mappings and commit/abort them when apply or cancel are clicked.
