Bug Description

Archlinux, vms4.
Working with 1.12.0-alpha-pre (build master r3970) there is an unexpected behaviour.
With Mixxx1.11 it was possible to hold [cue] and then press [play] to go into play mode. Very handy if you just found the right beat.
With 1.12 this doesn't work anymore. Tried all modes (mixxx/pioneer/denon/numark)

Please revert this behaviour. :)

Hi Daniel,

I can't confirm with r3976 with Herculess RMX2 and Keyboard.
How can I reproduce it?

How to reproduce:

T61 with Archlinux
Controller: AmericanAudio VMS4 with mapping 1.9.2

pacman -S mixxx-git
start mixxx
mixxx-version is 1.12.0-alpha-pre (build master r3976)

drag song into deck 1
set cuepoint by pressing [CUE]
longpress [CUE] : Song plays
release [CUE] : jumps back to cuepoint
longpress [CUE] and press [PLAY] : jumps back to cuepoint

expected behaviour: Song will continue to play (as in 1.11)

This is all the same with Cue-Mode set to mixxx/Pioneer/Denon/Numark.
There IS a difference in behaviour between mixxx/pionieer and Denon/Numark
But "flashing" isn't working at all

output of mixxx --controllerDebug while performing the steps described above attached.
Thanks for looking into this! :)

Yes maybe, if you can confirm that the keyboard shortcuts are working as desired.

To achieve blinking cue and play/pause buttons, it is required to change the mapping (midi and skin) of the button leds from "cue" and "play" to "cue_indicator" and "play_indicator"

I have just updated

Yes, i can confirm that.

set cue-point with [F]
hold [F] starts playing
hold [F] and then pressing [D] goes into play mode

I once fiddled around with the midi-mapping for the vms4 with no success, finally giving Sean some bucks to write that beast bulletproof and feature-complete. :D

of course willing to do this again.

Hmm... did we break existing controller scripts or is this VMS4 specific?

Changed in mixxx:
milestone: none → 1.12.0
importance: Undecided → High
tags: added: controllers cue
