Bug Description

HI
After launching mixxx and and connecting to ASIO in this case DENON ASIO Driver i saw bug refering to connecting Decks to Channels in my mixer.
I'm pretty sure that Mixxx should have only Option Channels 1-2, Channels 3-4, Channels 5-6, Channels 7-8.

Channels 2-3, Channels 4-5, Channels 6-7 are usesless :)

Hi Claudiush,

Thanks for the report. What version of Mixxx are you using?

Bill: could you take a look? How could something like this happen.

Thanks,
RJ Ryan

IIRC, this needs to happen to allow single-channel microphone inputs, or mono-channel outputs.

For mono inputs and outputs the channel selection will only have a single channel instead of 2. That's not what's going on here since we are listing channels for a deck output which is stereo.

I think this affects all devices. Or at least CoreAudio in addition to ASIO. The attached patch solves the problem. I'm not going to add this to 1.11.0 since it's not worth the risk.

Please confirm if you can still select a mono input on any channel number with that patch applied.

Yep, you can still select any channel (even or odd) for a mono input.

Ugh, buried bugmail.

The only way this patch would cause problems would be if there existed a sound device such that an odd number of mono channels were ordered before a stereo pair. Eg., a mono input at the first channel, and then a stereo pair immediately following it. Because the patch assumes the stereo pair will always start at an even offset, it would be impossible to select one that started at an odd offset.

I've defended this exotic scenario on more occasions than I care to remember now, and I've yet to hear of an audio interface that actually fits, so by all means, let's patch this. :)
