Bug Description

Some people have asked for this feature. I filled this bug to separate it from lp:661459.

As a hint for anyone who is willing to look at this, a note from the mailing-list:
"This Qt-based implementation of a cover-flow like animation should be easily re-usable: http://code.google.com/p/pictureflow/"

I don't like Coverflow. Scanning through more then 20 pictures is just a pain in coverflow and it's not a good overview on whats in the library/Crate

I'd prefer if we instead implement a GridView like the one used in Banshee. It has the same advantages but is still usable with a large number of AlbumCovers and I can scan through my library quicker

Never under estimate the power of a useless but flashy feature. Actually I think coverflow could work, but *only* if it worked like an actual DJ crate: front to back. Oh, and with the ability to pre-select records by lifting them and placing them diagonally on the crate. (like this, only not from this angle: http://static.wix.com/media/95bfea15f7bdddbf729c510039e1bee5.wix_mp)

BTW there is a Qt cover-flow implementation here:
https://code.google.com/p/pictureflow/

My opinion on cover flow is that it's basically a flashy gimmick but unfortunately sometimes flashy gimmicks sell. Not sure if it's worth doing or not.
