Bug Description
Setup: Exactly the same as Bug #1217687 "[mir] [multimonitor] mouse choppy, typing text in terminal slow".
Attempting to execute '$ sudo service lightdm restart' from _either_ a tty (C-A-F1) or gnome-terminal from within a Mir session, lightdm is not able to start again. The screen stays blank/black.
- Changing to tty1 (C-A-F1), and looking at lightdm.log, it appears that lightdm successfully stops, but there is no attempt to start a new session.
- Looking at unity-system-
To get back, it seems necessary to kill the compository:
$ sudo killall unity-system-
$ sudo lightdm start
Lightdm now starts and I'm appropriately presented with the standard Unity interface.
