Bug Description

Link targets work when the user just clicks on the link and the application is supposed to know what to do. But if a user makes middle-click (new tab), or right click (menu with link options) that decision should be respected.

If a link is set to _self, a normal click will open the link in the same tab/frame, as expected. But if the user makes middle-click, the link still opens in the same tab instead of a new one.

can you please testwith following testcase if you can reproduce an issue?

I cant reproduce with midori 0.4.3 and Webkit 1.6.1 here.

Changed in midori:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged

That link seems to work. However, my original link is still broken, so
there must be something else causing it.
The link I'm talking about is inside a course in Blackboard 9.

I believe its not a bug, but a designed behavoir of this javascript code. There is bunch of js ways which preventing opening pages in a new tab, like onclick page load.

I believe we can close this bug as invalid as i dont see any ways in which midori can stop this.

You may close it, but it's still weird that this only happens in Midori,
but in Chrome or Firefox it works fine.
