Bug Description

When users go to change a preference like the default search engine, they expect to find it in the browser's preferences dialog. When it's not there, they assume it can't be changed (see: http://answers.elementaryos.org/1826). Rather than being in its own dialog, the search engine customization dialog should be a part of the main preferences dialog.

The current ways of getting to it (right-clicking the address bar or search entry) should just open the main preferences dialog to that tab.

I'm not sure putting it inside the preferences is a good idea for two reasons. It will make the dialog more complex. And it is away from what it affects, ie. the location entry.

I agree that getting to the dialog is counter-intuitive and the context menu is hard to discover. One thing that was suggested was to put the menuitem below the autocompletions, or on a menu in the left-side icon.

I would have to agree with Christian that I don't think preferences is the right place. I would go for adding a menu to the primary icon in the entry. This is a pretty familiar/obvious way to present search options and it could achieve the same affect with a minimal amount of UI.

Hm... I'm still leaning toward Preferences since it's a preference. I mean, I do get your reasoning, but on the other hand, you set your homepage behavior from the Preferences dialog and not by alternate-clicking the homepage button, tab behavior from Preferences and not alternate-clicking the tab bar, etc.

Personally I'd duplicate the functionality to accommodate users that aren't familiar with this method as well as those who are.
