Option to open search results in new tab

When I use the search bar to search something, the current tab is overriden with the search result.

I'd like to have an option to open search results in a new tab.

By holding the ctrl key when pressing enter, the search results will be opened in a new tab.

For me, it is more natural, if the tab, which contains a search result has also the focus.

I feel like it would make the most sense to obey the existing preference for opening new tabs in the fore/background. That way both behaviors are possible and it's consistent with new tabs opened via other methods.

I applied the patch, modified to use _smartly to respect the background option.
