Bug Description

By default, middle-clicking a link on a page, or a bookmark/history item, opens them in new tabs. There doesn't appear to be any way to configure this action, in either the preferences, or via extensions such as, "Shortcuts".

I'd really appreciate it if an option were added somewhere, so that I can choose whether middle-clicking opens links/bookmarks/history in a new tab; in a new window; or does nothing.

Cheers,
Ick.

I'm not sure why this makes sense to configure. Rather, it should obey the same rules as everywhere else, which is Alt for new window and Shift for background or not.

I'd like to add to Christian's comment that there is the option already under interface to open links in a new tab or a new window. If this option is respected in the middle click behavior I would say we should mark this bug as won't fix.

I wrote this bug a while ago, back when Midori's preferences were less homogeneous and there were multiple combo boxes for setting new tab/new window behaviour. Even now, as of 0.3.3, there's one combo box that sets (or is supposed to set) this behaviour globally and I'd still appreciate it if middle-click behaviour could be included. Thanks.
