Bug Description

On xubuntu 14.04 x86_64, if I click on a pdf on some page in Midori and select "save as" and give it a filename and location, it just hangs forever and the target file stays at 0 bytes length.

Please post the contents of about:version and a specific link that doesn't work for you. Can you verify that the same link does work in some other browser?

You're running a really old version of Midori; the current version is 0.5.10 and 0.5.11 is on the way. I believe this bug was fixed in either Midori or its dependencies quite a long time ago; see <https://bugs.launchpad.net/midori/+bug/951658>. I believe there's a debian-compatible package at http://midori-browser.org/ which may work better.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately updating from the PPA results in a crash because my gtk libraries are out of date. Seems like I'll have to move away from 14.04 LTS to something more recent.
Anybody have a suggestion for a distro that will keep this stuff more current?
