Bug Description

Honestly I just typed a lengthy bug report detailing everything I am using while using Midori and got a server error on top of the outrageous problems I've been dealing with while trying to use a seemingly outstanding browser. From blue people on youtube to not being able to search anything at all in any way shape or form in my bookmarks sidebar. Which is a huge bug I'm surprised hasn't been reported at all. Both me and my partner on different systems cannot search. Not only that but with the lovely alphabetizing of the bookmarks I cannot find anything that way very well either. An option to not automatically do that would certainly be welcomed.

Can you please provide steps on how to reproduce this?
Does this happen with brand-new profile as well when adding some bookmaks to it. Eg. midori -c `mktemp -d`

Well. I just tried it with that command, and then regularly, and it works fine now. Honestly I'm not sure what has changed. Initially both myself and my girlfriend couldn't search bookmarks at all. Her laptop has some sort of hardware error now, I think the poor thing died. So I can't test it there as well. But, seems to be working now.

Before on a brand new install and profile with newly added bookmarks the moment you clicked the search result it broke. And backspacing to try another search yielded a blank bookmarks bar. And her and I are on completely different systems using different WMs, GTK themes, etc. etc. So I had concluded it was a huge bug. Basically any effort to use the search function made the entire sidebar useless before.

Truth be told, due to not being able to find anything I haven't used the browser in a long time. I apologize for not documenting it a second time after the server error. I became frustrated when it complained that I posted the same bug twice even through I lost the form data and had to retype it all in and re-submit.

I've noticed this behavior with GTK2; the problem is that the panel interprets the placeholder text as a query and searches for it. I'll submit a bug report about it and then have a patch in the next few days.
