Bug Description

In the Midori PPA's .deb, Midori is supplied as an x-www-browser alternative, but not a gnome-www-browser alternative. Programs using gtk_show_uri(), i.e., xfce4-terminal, will launch gnome-www-browser, and it would be nice if the user could set this to be Midori.

OP, if you could convert your patches into a bzr branch it would be much easier to get someone to review and merge.

Daniel: The patched files, i.e., midori.postinst and midori.prerm, are not tracked in bzr so I cannot make a branch for them. The patched files are the install scripts for the official Debian package.
