Sometimes the overlay bar disappears after hovering over it

It doesn't move to the other side, but disappears. I think it ony happened with long urls

This happens if both, the left overlay and the right overlay would overlap the link.

Also happens in the following use case, where the overlay doesn't overlap:

Scroll down to the bottom of a Launchpad page and make the window so small that the "Get the code" link is right next to the right window border. Hover over it so that the overlay will appear on the left next time a link is hovered. Scroll up so that the "Take the tour" link is on the same height as the overlay. Hover over "Read the guide". Move the cursor to the left.
