Bug Description
It would be nice to have a way to load images which initially failed to load, but in the context of the original page rather than in a new tab like "open image in new tab" does. A lot of other browsers have this capability, and it's more convenient for flaky connections and servers than the workflow of "open image in new tab" followed by tab-toggling to assemble mentally the intended look of the page (e.g. while reading an image with a textual explanation or which illustrates an article).
Other browsers place this in the context menu for the element, which seems like a reasonable convention to follow.
