Crashed for me after adding a URL to the box and hitting enter. This was just after upgrading to 0.5.5 (I think, since it won't open anymore without crashing). It preserved my previous speeddial page and worked OK with that first time, but I tried adding another URL (DuckDuckGo) and since then it's been a mess. Tried rebuilding the speeddial file with an editor, didn't seem to cure it. Tried reinstallation, no help. Will try removal next. This is a 32-bit Kubuntu Lucid.

If removing the speeddial file from ~/.config/midori doesn't work, try removing the entire ~/.config/midori folder. Does this bug occur every time (or every time you add certain sites)?

Allowing Midori to regenerate athe speeddial file will make it work, using Google as the first entry.

It just seems that trying to add a second entry causes it to crash. I wouldn't say I have tried a large number of sites. Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, come to mind, but I haven't tried it with, say, Amazon, or non-search-engine sites.

What I did notice is that if one has Google as the first speeddial entry, trying to add any other search engine crashes Midori, and in the speeddial file, the next entry is not 2, as one would expect, but 3. I tried renumbering in speeddial, but it didn't work, nor did faking the full second entry.

I will try some other sites, see what happens.

attempts to add anything to Midori speed dial result in massive HDD I/O to the point where the entire system destabilizes and crashes. This is a huge bug. My current work around is to pretend speed dial doesn't exist and set preferences accordingly.

This behavior occurs on Elementary OS Freya 0.3 with Midori 0.5.10 every time I try to add a site (latest attempt: en.wikipedia.org), either via right click on page or via the speed dial menu itself.
