Bug Description

The documentation states that you have to use the microstack.openstack command line app to access/control services. The problem with the openstacksdk is that it doesn't have all of the same features as the nova and cinder command line clients. We need a way to use the native nova and cinder clients to manage cinder correctly. the microstack command line is pretty useless from a cinder perspective.

It would be nice if there was a microstack command that outputs the openstack ~/.config/openstack.yaml that I could point the native clients to or to output the OS_* environment variables as well.

There is this file:

. /var/snap/microstack/common/etc/microstack.rc

Does that help?

Thanks for reporting this. I think microstack could grow client support for individual projects. For now yes the microstack.rc file can be sourced and non-microstack clients can be used.
