Bug Description
hi
I was running the code generate g g > lg l g, lg > l j
with all the model filed and particles properly defined but this is the error which iam
getting.
"Error when reading /home/arvind/
Command "generate_events run_01" interrupted with error:
ValueError : need more than 5 values to unpack."
Thanks

Hi Olivier
I checked the directory you mentioned and it contains 4 files, namely
1)input_app.txt
2)log.txt
3)results.dat
4)run1_app.log
The log.txt and run1_app.log contains the values of standard parameters. I m not attaching the contents as its too much but if you want i can copy and paste them here. The content in the "results.dat" is "end code not correct 3". i am not able to understand what this means. I have tried looking for similar bugs/errors on the forum but I am unable to rectify my problem with the said solution.
Thank you
cheers

Hi,
The last 20 lines of the log.txt is typically what is usefull to understand what the problem is.
If I'm correct you should have line related to the code below:
write(*,*) idmo,'>', idda1, idda2, 'color', get_color(
write(*,*) "failed for ipartupdate. Please retry without MLM/default dynamical scale"
stop 3
Cheers,
Olivier

This appears a bit huge and confusing.

What confuse you here?
-9123491
This is the pdg of one of your new particles, isn't it?
r
Otherwise by looking at the code, it indeed seems that type of interaction (octet going to an octet and a scalar) is not allowed in a full general way for the code choosing our default dynamical scale and therefore for MLM computation.
So I would advice to use another type of dynamical scale choice (like Ht/2) to make this computation. You can choose the type dynamical scale choice in the run_card.dat

Hello olivier
As advised by you I changed the renormalization scales in the run card. But
unfortunately I am getting a similar result. I am not able to understand what this text implies.
"Command "generate_events run_01" interrupted with error:
ValueError : need more than 5 values to unpack".
I apologise in advance if this is a very basic problem,I am student have just begun working on madgraph

I would then need to have more details in what you are trying to do.
THe idea is that I should have enough information to be able to reproduce your issue.
THis typically means:
1) what is your model? (you can attach it here, or send it to me by email)
2) what is your process.
3) what is your run_card/param_card /... (better if you can give the various "set" command to edit those from the default ones)
Cheers,

Hello Olivier
I am attaching the model file i am using. It contains the UFO file complied
by feynrules and the mathematica file.
The process I want to run is p p > x x~, x > l j
here x : leptogluon
l : lepton
j : mostly gluons
In my model file I have incorporated the interactions of leptogluons for
all generation of leptons but I am getting only a decay for electron.
the above process is ending abruptly with the following message.
once you launch the simulation, this is what i get.

Hi,
Setting
dynamical_run_scale to "3" in the run_card.dat actually fixes the problem.
On the google drive, you are still using "-1"...

Olivier

A huge thanks to you. But do you have any idea why isn't it showing the tau
decay from a leptogluon

Hello Olivier.
If you check my model file, you will see that I have mentioned interaction
of leptogluon with the taon and the gluon.
I have named three generation of leptogluon with the same mass. as x1, x2,
x3. But the model is failing to
identify x1 x2 x3 as different particles. Is it because i have set the mass
same for them.
Thanks

Hi,
Your model does not allow such decay:
If I'm doing this:
MG5_aMC>display interactions x ta+
MG5_aMC>display interactions x ta-
I do not see any interaction between those two particles. (same if I replace the tau by the muon).
The particle x seems to have 4 interaction:
MG5_aMC>display interactions x
15 : x~ x a
16 : x~ x g
17 : e+ x g
18 : e+ x g g
Cheers,
Olivier
Arvind (flash123) wrote : | #16 |
Hello
yes, I am aware of the fact that my model isn't allowing such decay. My
question is if you check my SM.fr file which
I have included in the attachment you will find in the end with the class
name f[55],f[56] the definition of the remaining generation of
leptogluons and also the lagrangian which mentions the interactions which
they can have with a muon and a taon.
thanks
Arvind

Hi,
just one last doubt, could you tell me the logic behind setting that
dynamical scale to 3
"3" means HT/2
help dynamical_
INFO: *** HELP MESSAGE ***
## Information on parameter dynamical_
## current value: -1 (parameter should be of type <type 'int'>)
## '-1' is based on CKKW back clustering (following feynman diagram).
## '1' is the sum of transverse energy.
## '2' is HT (sum of the transverse mass)
## '3' is HT/2
## '4' is the center of mass energy
## This value is considered as been set by the user
Allowed value are: -1,0,1,2,3,4

The problem is that if you keep CKKW based merging (the "-1"/default)
you face the issue with the bad support of your type of interaction within that type of merging.
While all the other dynamical scale choice are just analytical and therefore do not have any dependencies in your model.

Olivier

Dear Arvind,
You should have more details on the reason of that crash in the log file present in HEP/Source/ MG5_aMC_ v2.6.4/ MG5_aMC_ v2_6_4/ lep1/SubProcess es/P1_gg_ xlg_x_lg/ G1/
