cannot extract the output simulation file

I downloaded a madevent file,and run the generate_events file to make events. But when I extract unweighted_events.lhe.gz file in /Events/ menu, it says "this is not gzip file".

Could you explain a bit more what you did such that I can try to reproduce exactly all your move in order to reproduce the problem and identify a solution.

I have solved the problem. It's not a compressed file, but it is named with . gz. so I am confused.

when I use generate_event.root , the output is a file named unweighted_events_.....gz . It's end with gz, but it is a txt file, rather than a compressed file. it may be misleading.

Hi,

We do not have a script "generate_event.root" so i guess that you are using some additional code in top of MG5 where the problem might be.
