Bug Description

Hi,

I'm getting the follow error:

Command "launch auto " interrupted with error:
IOError : [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/afs/cern.ch/user/s/sgreydan/mg5_runs/MG5_cteq6m_NLO/MCatNLO/RUN_HERWIG6_1/events.hep.gz'

I read through the forum and there are three other posts related to this issue. One suggested that the missing events.hep.gz file error was a latency issue: I checked and there is no such file. Also, that solution did not work for me because I could not find the file that the bug fix was talking about.

Another post suggested setting pdfcode to 1. I did this and it did not work.

I executed the code in Scientific Linux 6 on the CERN lxplus system using gfortran 4.9 (devtoolset-3). The error occurs several minutes into the run. The setup commands looked like this:

generate p p > h mu+ mu- [QCD]
output MG5_cteq6m_NLO
y
launch
set nevents 100000
set ebeam1 7000
set ebeam2 7000
set pdlabel cteq6_m
set ptl 20
set misset 25
set drll 0.0
set drjl 0.0
set R0gamma 0.1
set MT 1.725000e+02
set MZ 9.118760e+01
set MH 1.250900e+02
set mu- 1.056580e-01
set Gf 1.166370e-05
set wz 2.495200
set ww 2.088720
set wh 4.21e-03
set pdfcode 1
done

Hello,

This seems to be a problem with Herwig6. Which shower_card.dat are you using?

Best regards,
Rikkert

Hi!

I think it was a memory issue. I had only 5GB memory available and this error was appearing exactly when the total memory in my directory hit a limit

I'm running in another directory and things are working fine.

Thanks anyways,

Sam
