Bug Description

Hello, apologies if this is in the wrong place to ask, but I'm having trouble running maddm. As per the maddm instructions, I've installed the maddm/ directory inside an MG5 installation (MadDM_MG/). Two things come up:

1. When I run maddm.py and enter a model and project, I get the following note:

No handlers could be found for logger "cmdprint"

This doesn't prevent me from continuing with the script.

2. maddm.py is able to generate diagrams, but the numerical session crashes:

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '..../MadDM_MG/Template/Source/make_opts'

Am I doing something incorrectly?

Thanks!

This is a bug which appears when trying to run MadDM with the new version of MadGraph5_aMC@NLO...
The bug occurs because there have been some slight changes in the definitions of routines in MadGraph. I noticed this error 2 days ago, but I have to put it on the back burner while I'm working on some more pressing issues.

For the moment, the easy fix is to run MadDM with MadGraph version 1.5.x (it will work with 1.5.9 for sure).

Best,

Mihailo

Hi,

This bug occurs because of a slight incompatibility of maddm with the current release of MG5_aMC@NLO. The issue will be resolved soon, but in the mean time, maddm will run with the previous version of MadGraph, 1.5.13 for instance.

Best,

Mihailo

Hi,

Just to point that I change the project of the bug report since MadDM has it's own launchpad space now.

Hi Sukanta,

We are aware of the issue and are fixing it at the moment. The reason maddm doesn't work with MG5_aMC@NLO is that there have been some changes in the madgraph functions which we are now taking into account in the MadDM code.

There is an easy fix for this problem in the mean time. You should just run MadDM with MadGraph 5 (v 5.1.13 will work) for instance. The same model files you use for v2.0 should work just fine.

Let me know if this helps.

Best,

Mihailo
