Bug Description
The compound line implementation is critical to the project and requires thorough testing and documentation.
Suggested test cases:
1. Mesh a square domain with a circular hole cut out (parametrised with many points) at a range of mesh element sizes (the circle should be represented at the required element size in each case).
2. This example with the domain split into two regions.
3. The Filchner-Ronne region with multiple regions specified, and interface boundaries respected.
