Bug Description

Hi Sean/all,

I had 'Character Map' in menu root and also in 'Office' subfolder, and wanted to delete it from root. Tried hiding the root one from menus but it hid both. Tried deleting root from menus, deleted both now don't know how to reinstate. ALSO this caused my settings menu - which was previously a single click item which I had hidden AND a subfolder with all settings items in it, which I didn't have hidden, to disappear. You mention that expanded settings subfolder isn't an option for xubuntu in another bug report ("messy" bug) but it was fine for me before.

Any idea how to reinstate expanded settings for xubuntu?

And also bug report for hiding/deleting one not all of multiple instances of shortcuts. Would be lovely to be able to just delete and drag-drop where we wanted them.

Cheers

Buuuut, even if I change the name & icon back, it appears as expanded settings in the menulibre menu, but won't show up in the actual menu :(

It looks like something crazy is going on here. Any useful output when running from the Terminal?

Hi Sean,
The settings menu came back, oddly enough, so now I have 3 separate entries:
1. 'Normal' item entry, "Settings Manager", not expandable, path @ bottom is /home/simon/.local/share/applications/menulibre-settings.desktop
2. Folder-looking entry which doesn't expand, "Settings", /home/simon/.local/share/desktop-directories/xfce-settings1.directory
3. Identical to above but DOES expand, /usr/share/desktop-directories/xfce-settings.directory

1 I have hidden from menus but 2 & 3 I don't, however only 3 seems to be displayed. Or they're overlaid maybe, but unlikely.
Furthermore, within the expanded settings (#3) there are 2 "Settings Manager" entries, paths are
3a: /home/simon/.local/share/applications/xfce-settings-manager.desktop
3b: /home/simon/.local/share/applications/menulibre-settings.desktop
Both are currently hidden from Menus.

Let me know if you can think of anything I can do to help debug this - notwithstanding it's now all working!
Cheers
