By XDG I mean the Xorg standards.
Is there any big urgency behind making this move now? The reason is that we have this planned in a blueprint for the memaker 2.0. If you would like, you can code it yourself and we could have it in this release. But it has to be quick. :P
Well, it depends if memaker 2.0 is due before Hardy is out. For now It's a bit harder to use. I wouldn't give it to my parents.
I don't know how XDG is programmed, but it's probably a function to fetch a directory path, and use it to initialize the GTK dialog.
If memaker is all developped in Python as it seems, it could be fun. I am a Python programmer myself.
Do you have a published git/bzr so I can send you patches?
I noticed in the blueprints memaker will depend on python-xdg anyway, to store application data.
Yes, the main trunk line is "trunk". Have fun!
I implemented this. I'll try to publish my branch or send a patch.
I have merged. Was it really that easy? :D Jason Brower

No, I much prefer git, and bzr looks too much like svn. :-)
The hardest was to find how to publish it on Launchpad.
Bug watches keep track of this bug in other bug trackers.
