Bug Description

Using mediawiki.el 2.2.3
On:
MediaWiki: 1.9.3
PHP: 5.1.6 (apache2handler)
MySQL: 5.0.22

When I try the command: mediawiki-site, I get the following error:
Error: ad-Orig-error: XML: (Not Well-Formed) Only one root tag allowed

The api.php doesn't look a whole lot different than the one at Wikipedia. Any suggestions/pointers?

When I try to visit Wikipedia, I get another error:

ad-Orig-error: Oops! Don't see end of headers!

Thanks,
-Milind.

You have a very old version of MediaWiki installed. Can you upgrade it?

What version of Emacs are you using?

I encountered same issue with mediawiki.el 2.2.4.1 and GNU Emacs 24.3.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin10.8.0, NS apple-appkit-1038.36). It completes stops me from entering the Mediawiki instance.

Is the MediaWiki instance you're trying to use public? If so, could you give me the URL so I can test?

Otherwise, I need to know the setting you are using when you try to access Wikipedia.

Hi,

I have the "Oops! Don't see end of headers!" problem. In fact it seems that emacs only tries the IPv6 address for the site (DNS respond with both v4 and v6), however the http server serving the mediawiki instance does not answer via IPv6.

I've forced it adding an IPv4 entry for the site in my /etc/hosts and now everything works fine. So I guess this might be a bug in a url* emacs module.

I'm still using Precise (so I have emacs 23.3+1-1ubuntu9.2 )

David
