Bug Description

Adding/removing videos should rerun mediascanner and update the index. However, sometimes nothing happens meaning mediascanner doesn't do a rescan or some files get skipped for no reason (not even getting a cannot parse this file because of unsupported codec). Even stopping mediascanner, removing the cache dir and restarting doesn't show all the files.

These are the sample mp4 movies

The log shows:
mediascanner-service[4552]: INFO info/fs-walker: Scanning directory "/home/phablet/Videos"
mediascanner-service[4552]: DEBUG debug/fs-walker: Scanning "/home/phablet/Videos/Tears_of_Steel-Trailer.mp4"
__pthread_gettid -2

then no further output.

Added another video to the folder and log reports:

mediascanner-service[5268]: DEBUG debug/tasks: Cancelling task 1322 of file system scanner
mediascanner-service[5268]: DEBUG debug/tasks: Cancelling task 1323 of file system scanner
mediascanner-service[5268]: DEBUG debug/tasks: Cancelling task 1324 of file system scanner

It does not pick up the new video

This seems to have regressed. Systems with Videos already scanned can still see them, in the dash, but new videos do not appear.

Marking as Fix released, updates in the media stack should have fixed most of these issues and mediascanner logs warnings with relevant error code when it skips a video now.
