Bug Description

On freebsd and on a fresh ubuntu installation over a dell mini media-applet fails to correctly start
This is what media-applet prints:
** (media-applet:46554): CRITICAL **: media_monitor_load_volumes: assertion `volumes != NULL' failed
** (media-applet:46554): CRITICAL **: media_monitor_load_mounts: assertion `mounts != NULL' failed

I can confirm this problem in ubuntu jaunty (64bit) on a Dell Inspiron 1420 with version 0.4-1
