Bug Description

* SGH-i897, Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (AT&T in US)
* Android 2.1
* APK from LaunchPad (before 0.4-alpha)
* Tekla has worked nicely on my phone, for the most part

I get in trouble if the Shield disconnects, particularly by turning off my phone. When I try turning on my phone back on with the Shield not found, things lock up to the point that the power button doesn't work. I've had to pull out the battery.

I read https://bugs.launchpad.net/meadl/+bug/792997 and yes, it sounds like that problem. My variant is that I appear to need to power cycle my phone a couple of times before it works properly.

FYI: I upgraded to 0.4-alpha through the Android market. Notably:
* I turned off the Tekla keyboard on my phone, as well as the Shield itself, but when I upgraded, it hard-crashed my phone (need to pull out battery to reset)

When I turned it back on, I tried configuring the Tekla keyboard but:
** the "Connect to Tekla" option in the Tekla Keyboard options was already checked, even though the Shield showed it wasn't connected (flashing red light); upon pressing this checkbox, the Shield appeared to connect, but the Tekla program locked up
** then, the Tekla application crashed, and my phone locked up for a while, then started vibrating (maybe due to a backlog of my clicks)
** I had to shut down my phone to get rid of the problems
