Bug Description

Hello all,

i have got exactly the same problem.
While my USB DVB-T device works flawlessly on Hardy with Me-TV 0-whatsoever i noticed
that updating my Karmic netbook from Me-TV 1.0.x to 1.1.1 was no good.

After scanning the channels i now get 8 (!) more usable channels.
But: Some channel "quads" seem not to work altogether.
The EPG shows and signal strength is better than 40% but no picture and no sound.

But anyway: Someone will find the problem, i am sure.

And many thanks to the Me-TV Squad for giving the community this nice app.

Have a good start in 2010 !

Greetings,
Frank

Hi Frank,

I don't have this issue. I have one person with a similar issue in the UK. I'm working with them to try and resolve it, but it will take time and might not be the same as your issue.

If you know how to build from a source repository then you are welcome to get onto #me-tv on FreeNode and work through it.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi Frank,

you should not feel adressed by the 'unsufficient testing' statement
when you live in Sidney and for this reason have no way
to get our local dvb-t channels from germany. Is there any developer
living in germany who is able to reproduce the issue or anyone having by contrast
no problems with dvb-t and channel 'Das Erste' from channel group ARD
especially in Nordrhein-Westfalen?

Greetings,
Peter

Hi Peter (I assume you are talking to me),

Thanks for clearing that up, I am the only active developer.

Hi all,

to clear this up: I am from Germany and live in the Northern Rhine region (Nordrhein-Westfalen) near SIEGEN.
I am still able to receive DAS ERSTE with my Hardy system running ME-TV 0.x using the same equipment and same antenna.
What is puzzling me is that the signal strength is good and the EPG shows but no sound and no screen output.

I use the Karmic netbook remix and the gstreamer environment.
(I also had no chance to have totem run DVB-T with the dvb-channels.conf from Hardy (plus the playlist). There seem to be major changes
between Hardy and Karmic :) ).

Besides one question: How do i get ME-TV scanning the channels from scratch ?
I now rename / delete everything me-tv.db . Is this a good way ?

I am no developer but i will try to compile the latest version later this week.

I've just been given some good information from Geoff about this issue. If you are affected by this bug you should thank him for his efforts and taking a step outside his comfort zone.

Based on the information I think that I am now able to fix this issue.

Thanks,

Michael

Hello Michael,

thank you and Geoff, hope he reads this, and everyone who helped fixing the bug.
I just returned from work and immediatly installed the new version.
The fix works for me, too :-) I just zapped through all channels I am able to receive
espacially ARD - Das Erste which showed the issue before.
You made my day :-)
