This seems like an interesting problem. Do you have a /dev/dvb/adapter0? Or does it just start at 3?

Gerd Mayer (grmayer) wrote :

Yes, I have /dev/dvb/adapter0, /dev/dvb/adapter1 and /dev/dvb/adaptor3
The numbers are set by udev rules

Why not 2? Me TV starts at 0 and increments until it doesn't find an adapter. I can change this I guess but I don't quite know when to stop.

Gerd Mayer (grmayer) wrote :

ok, without the gap it works.

I want use my DVB-T and the DVB-C adapter at the same time, is this possible ?

Like I said, I'm happy to iterate over x adapters even if they are not present ... someone just needs to tell me what x is. But, if you're happy with your new solution then I can leave it the way it is. Let me know.

Re: at the same time,

I do not have this set up but I know of people that have this working. See https://answers.launchpad.net/me-tv/+question/147437. The idea is to use the --devices option to tune your stations one device at a time. Once the channels for both devices are loaded, run Me TV without the --devices option and Me TV will look for an appropriate device for the selected channel.

The solution is ok for me, thank you for the quick response.

With me-tv-2.0.0 I can't import the attached channels.conf.cbl, (invalid parameter count)

With me-tv-1-3-6 the import of the same file is working fine.

To be clear, you are selecting the DVB-C device using the --devices option when using trying to import that channel, yes?

Gerd Mayer (grmayer) wrote :

yes, I select adapter2 and do the import of channels.conf.cbl and it fails

Thanks for the excellent information. Yes, this is a bug, I had hard-coded it to be DVB-T.

Now the import of DVB-C channels.conf works and I can record from DVB-T and DVB-C !
Thank you for the quick fix
