Bug Description

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. most recent version of Me TV using Ubuntu's software center.

Not able to select another channel even though Me TV lists other channels discovered during a scan. Each time I open Me TV, it goes to the channel that is at the top of the list displayed under channels. I can not move (select) another channel on the list. If want to switch to another channel, I have to delete all stations in the list till the one of interest is at the top.

Don't know if it's related, but neither could I find a configuration file (channels.conf) in usr subfolders or when using terminal to hunt.

I don't particularly have answers for you - I have been using me-tv for several years on ubuntu 14.04 by way fo linux mint (not my first choice, just easier for multi-media).

The version in ubuntu's default repository probably isn't the most current from the ppa here: https://launchpad.net/~me-tv-development/+archive/ubuntu/ppa Although there isn't one explicitly for the latest release of 16.04, I'd speculate the one for 14.04 should work... but I'm not a developer.

The configuration files are stored in ~/.local/share/me-tv (at least for the 1.4 series) It's an SQlite format.

I hope you get your issues fixed!

FWIW I'm having a similar issue as John (OP), except sometimes I can select a station and sometimes not in the same session. Sort of like rocking a car to get out of a rut, only this time I'm rocking Me-TV to get it to the desired station.

Also will see the error message at the bottom of the display screen "Failed to get available Frontend" which is sometimes followed by "Failed to get display stream".

Not sure if makes any difference (plus haven't re-ordered the channel sequence) but the first station is 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 a VHF station (RF 4 -- United States - almost forgot that detail!) and the remainder are UHF.

Running on a Lenovo T61 laptop, Hauppauge HVR-950Q. Ubuntu 16.04, and the install available through Software Update.

Well, I"m not sure what happened: all of a sudden Me-TV is working better. Now able to see the EPG at the bottom of the screen and so far if able to see the programme listing I'm able to switch to that station. (There are two stations starting at the 15th entry the EPG is not filling in.)

What I did was to clean up a couple/few old utilities I tried, including a couple of other TV utilities -- these causing a conflict with Me-TV?? Part of the cleanup included running 'sudo apt-get autoremove'.
