Bug Description

I am using Kubuntu 13.1 and Me-TV 1.3.7 from repository, live in New Zealand. when using blazetv in windows it shows all available channels, when i scan for channels in me-tv it seems to not pick up all available channels (blazetv shows them as 594mhz). Hope this is enough info, let me know if more required.

Hi,

You can use "dvbscan" to create a channels.conf then import it in me-tv.
DVBScan is much more sensitive for scanning. You can also create the
channels.conf by hands if you know the frequencies of the channels.

Cheers,
Fred

hi fred, thanks for your quick response. unfortunately i am pretty much a linux learner and not sure how to use dvbscan or (looks like w_scan too does same?). just trying to figure out how now. a quick run through of w_scan looks like it "finds" the missing channels, now to figure out how to create the file to use in me-tv...

hi again, managed to use w_scan to produce a new channels.conf and then imported into me-tv, many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. All channels now showing, very happy. should i update anything?
cheers/thnx.

For future information, the dvb-apps package should come with a mass of preconstructed files specifying all the parameters of the transmitters, there should be a file for the transmitter you pick up from. If not the Debian folk would love to get a "bug report" so they know there is a transmitter they haven't documented.
