Bug Description
when transcoding an audio file with duration 3:03 from flac to apple lossless or aac (perhaps others, not tested), a file is created that is not playable.
if the file is first decoded to aiff from flac, and then encoded to alac or acc from aiff, a functioning file is produced.
this behaviour has been observed several times over the course of transcoding a large music library.

Max 0.9.1 produces an unplayable file when converting APE/CUE to split ALAC. The failing track is 3:03:30 in length. VLC says "no moov box".
Tweaking the length produces a playable file.
APE/CUE -> AIFF -> ALAC does *not* work. The AIFF file is playable, but the ALAC file is not.
