Max transcoding does not work in Mavericks

Bug Description
Subject says it all. 10.9 breaks many things, one of them the transcoding pipeline in Max. Files are ripped to CAF but that is it. Neither FLAC nor WAV work.

Sorry, this not correct. After setting the directories for temporary and output files in Max's preferences the transcoding to WAV works fine.
