Bug Description

At the moment it isn't possible to rename multiple files at once by selecting them and choose rename? Nothing happens if I choose rename when multiple items are selected.

exact renaming multiples files at once is usually done via applications called bulk renamer. There's none actually in marlin and no support for external ones at the moment. I mark this as wishlist.

OK, Thanks!

I hope this feature will be added (soon), it's annoying to use an external program for this.

Bulk rename function should be based on Thunar, Krenamer and Bulk Renamer (for Windows).
They have awesome options and could be improved in Marlin.

This feature would make Marlin more solid, appealing and increase productivity. Perfect for who deals with lots of files everyday.

Erratum: The name of the program is "Bulk Rename Utility", not "Bulk Renamer"

Would be nice to link multiple actions before rename. This way you can add a prefix, delete some characters and substitute text in a row very easily.

This 'feature' is already built in on Windows since XP, so I think it's a mandatory function to have. I recently wanted to rename some photos, now I have to use Windows or PyRenamer or something?

Is this feature so hard to implement?
Or can't you just use the source code from PyRenamer: http://www.infinicode.org/code/pyrenamer/download.php
