Bug Description
We noticed several times, that unshunted messages have been sent to mailman (the technical mailinglist for Mailman himself) instead of the original mailinglist the posting belongs to.
If this happens, all those e-mails are lost, because they're leaving the shunt-queue without reaching their original destination.
Noticed with Mailman 2.1.11 and 2.1.12rc1 many times.
To post a comment you must log in.
Can you be more specific about the circumstances under which this occurs. Ideally, I would like to see
1) The traceback that caused the shunting, and
2) The message metadata from the shunt queue entry - the second object from
bin/dumpdb qfiles/ shunt/xxxx. pck
3) Whatever information (log entries, delivered message) you have about the unshunted message.
Normally, when a message is shunted, an attribute 'whichq' is placed in the message metadata to tell unshunt which queue to put it in. There is also normally a 'listname' attribute in every message's metadata which says which list it's for, and fallback to the site list only occurs if there is no listname attribute which "can't happen".
