Unread mail count does not go above 20

Binary package hint: mail-notification

I am using Ubuntu 9.10 (64 bit) with latest updates installed. But somehow the unread mail count of mail-notification never goes above 20! I am using it to track my gmail account. Whenever the unread mail acount in gmail inbox comes below 20, the notification applet works properly.

Is this something wrong with my configuration or a bug?!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 491032 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Hello Maarten, thanks for following up. I am now using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (64 bit) and still encounter the same error. I have now 31 unread emails in gmail inbox, but mail-notification shows 20.

I have uploaded the logs using apport-collect 491032. I'm not sure what else to upload. I can upload relevant screenshots if needed.

Are you able to try out the package that is provided by Precise? It is (currently) 8 days old and contains a new version than the Maverick package.
If it still does not work, an upstream bug report is required to notify the developers of this problem.

I confirm that this problem persists in Precise (64 bit).

Hm... my mistake, the bug tracker of mail-notification is hosted on LaunchPad! :)
I'll add this issue to their tracker as well.
