wish: "Launch the mail reader and consider new mail as read" click action preference

It would be very useful for me having the possibility, when being notified for new mail, to click on mail-notify icon and have both the mail reader opened and considered the new mail notified as read.

This would be sufficiently accomplished by adding a new option in properties->status icon performing both "launch the mail reader" AND "consider new mail as read".

This option would improve my usage-time of mail-notify by roughly 2/3 because each time I receive a new mail notification I have to:

with the current configuration: right click to navigate menu + click onto "mark as read" + left click main-notify to view mail. with the proposed option: left-click mail-notifyication to accomplish all.
