Bug Description

Mail notification supports Gmail, but there is no support for Gmail for hosted domains (Gmail under my own domain name).
Can you please add support for this?

This seems to work for me. I just put my full email address in the Username (<email address hidden>) and then set a custom mailbox name to stop it from looking funny. Although that could be considered a bug: It should properly name custom domain mailboxes instead of calling them <email address hidden>

While it is true that the program will receive notification of new messages, when the user clicks open he is brought to google's home page instead of the new message. This is probably because the credentials for google apps don't work through the main gmail login page. When I sign into my <email address hidden> account, which is gmail, I must sign in through this page both and redirect me to the first link. As you can see this is not hosted at google. I'm not sure how google apps works but simply sending the alternate domain credentials to the main gmail login page does not work.

I can confirm this bug.

The URL opened should start with[domain]/ instead of just for hosted domain Gmail accounts (Google Apps).

Please fix this bug, as it is very easy to fix, i.e. just change the url for hosted domains.

Changed in mail-notification:
status: New → Confirmed

I'm also waiting for this feature. My domain ( is hosted at Google gmail too and I'd like to use mail-notification to receive alerts and interact with my e-mail properly:

ktk2@ktk7:/tmp$ host -t MX mail is handled by 5 mail is handled by 5 mail is handled by 10 mail is handled by 10 mail is handled by 10 mail is handled by 1 mail is handled by 10
