Bug Description

In Mahara 1.3, when clicking on a blog post in the tag result list, you are taken to the edit mode of the blog post. I don't think that is reasonable as you often just want to go to the blog post but not edit it. It would be better to just link to the blog post instead of the edit page for it.

Do you mean showing user that post through artefact view?

Hi Ruslan,

I think that would be the standard, right? Because then they can still always also click on their blog title and be taken to the entire blog.

That sounds good and logical, though showing it as artefact in view is complicated because the block with a blog can present in several views, or not present in views at all, so it is ambiguous in the context of which view it should be shown when you click on it in tag result list. Correct me if I am mistaken.

Hi Ruslan,

That does pose a problem. I forgot that when I click on a blog post that is in a view, that the view title is also shown. :-( Mhh. When I tag an uploaded file, I am taken straight to the file and not to the details page. Would it be possible to show the blog post by itself (with the associated comments) and the blog in which it appears? Or we could show it in the blog context, i.e. show that blog post as the first one so that it then also easy to edit it / tags etc.

What do you think?

Kristina

If it went to the normal view blog page, we'd have to do some extra work to put it on the correct page of posts (and scrolled to the top of the appropriate post). Might be easier to write a new 'view post' page that's only accessible from the tag results.

I agree with Richard's solution, new "view post" page is probably the best.

Clicking on journal entry title on tags.php page still takes one to the edit page for the journal.

So are wanting to add in an artefact/blog/view/entry.php page to display one entry?
Or leave the link to go to the edit page?
