unrecoverable error on creating or editing a page after upgrade to 17.04

HI
I upgraded to 17.04 from 16.10 a couple of weeks ago. but now unable to edit page without an unrecoverable error. I downloaded the upgrade from mahara.org

Suse server, php 7.1, apache2.4, mariadb 10.022.

In the error logs

Just tried to install a blank mahara in a simialr environment and I have the same error

Thank you for reporting the issue, Michele. Currently, Mahara does not support PHP 7.1 but only up to PHP 7.0. We will look into fixing this issue for Mahara 18.04 (due April 2018).

There are now a bunch of fixes in the master branch for PHP 7.1

The particular error mentioned should now be fixed via patch https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/7953/1
