Hi dajan, thanks for all that info. I still cannot replicate the issue not even in ElCapitain. Attached is a screenshot from the demo site in Safari 9. It also looks correct in Chrome.

Were you testing with our demo site or with one of your sites? If you haven't tested on http://demo.mahara.org yet, can you please do so and ask a few others who have a Mac to check?
