Bug Description
Hi,
Feature/resource request.
At a recent Machara meeting (Scottish Mahara User Group) we looked at usability and workflow. One of the common points raised is the "where do I start" question - with almost everyone saying that they found copyable templates very useful for getting users started. The group thought that it would be valuable to have a set of exemplar template pages available within Mahara as a starting point so that users / teachers / administrators could get some ideas around content and structure for typical activities.
Asking the Mahara community to share some examples of best-practice templates (perhaps another competition?) could generate a useful resource bank of template pages that could be added to the core product, which institutions could then adapt to local needs and jump-start usage.
Regards, Gordon.
I like this idea, although I think it would probably be most useful not for end-users, but for potential site owners who've just downloaded the software and are investigating it, trying to decide whether or not to use it at their institution or not.
A softer variant on this same idea, is that sample pages could be shared by members of the community as leap2a files, perhaps posted on a "sample pages" section of the mahara.org website.
