Bug Description

When using IE 9 and Mahara 1.5.6 when editing a page and dragging in item from the Files, image sand video tab the following error is displayed:

The 'blocktype' parameter is not alphabetical only

changing to a different tab and dragging in an item fixes this issue. As does opening up the developer tools with F12 and setting the page document mode to IE8 standards

this issue dosen't occur in Firefox or Chrome

Sorry this isn't medium it's very high.

We have IE 9 rolled out across our college as this is the latest Windows broswer. As a result Mahara is broken.

I have bodged a fix to this on my install by forcing mahara to load in IE 8 mode by:

in themes/raw/templates/header.tpl

add

      <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8">

in themes/raw/templates/header.tpl change the first line to

<!DOCTYPE html>

I have done some additional testing

the above bodge works for IE 10 as well

However this bodge doesn't work when upgrading the mahara 1.6 as the structure of the themes as changed and doesn't allow it to be forced to into IE 8 mode.

also we have a MS surface int he office and I have test on that. Witht eh keyboard/ mouse it works fine. However using at as just the tablet doesn't work as you can't drag any of the elements in. Instead it just drags the screen around.
