function does not respond to mouse/keyboard input correctly

Bug Description

no crash report autogenerated. no application crash. slideshow just does not stop/resume or switches slideshow modes as it should. lag/delay. rendering of images seems to be ok. but any other function (including quit by pressing escape) is not working properly/hangs on execution.
this bug affects 8.04 hardy x86 - celeron 2.0ghz 1gig ram

this also affected 8.04 hardy x86_64 - amd tk53 1gig ram , but it seems to have been corrected as of 01.27.08

Can you please kill any running macula processes, and then run it manually from the command line and send me any output?

I suspect it's having problems connecting to your F-Spot instance, but hopefully this will help track it down.

Also, can you please check that your F-Spot instance has a Tag called "Desktop". I'm afraid this program isn't very well documented yet, but it requires this as the default Tag to search for pictures to rotate amongst, unless you've run macula-settings.py and chosen another Tag to use.
