Bug Description

Pulse Audio never worked under Jaunty on (my) MacBook Pro 5,1. I 've followed several how-to's [1][2][3] but no luck. This is an important issue.

How can MBP 5,1 owners trace the bug, if there is one?

Sorry, I forgot to add the "Connection failed: Connection refused" error message I _always_ get whenever I try to run Pulse Volume Control (e.g. from the CLI by executing "pulseaudio & pavucontrol").

Kind regards, Nikos

Fixed by removing everything, then following this guide/ppa http://webupd8.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-install-latest-pulseaudio-0915.html for latest pulse packages and afterwards following instructions in the wiki https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro5-1_5-2/Jaunty#Sound.

I would keep this ticket open since someone's personal PPA is not a fix to Ubuntu, but this needs to be marked against a package to get that changed.
