No events log shown in the UI

Bug Description
This is with MAAS 3.5.0~rc1-
If I go to the "Logs" section for a machine in the UI, nothing is shown in the "Event log" or "Installation output" sections.
In the API, I can see that there are plenty of event logs for the machine.
