Bug Description

Originally reported at https://discourse.maas.io/t/full-tmp-filesystem/6516 by ~bedfordc.

`maas_run_scripts.py` generates a temporary directory using `mkdtemp()` when no `base_path` is provided. Using `mkdtemp()` assumes that the caller is responsible for deleting the generated directory, but the script never does that, occupying free space on the `/tmp` partition.

Marking 3.2 as `Won't Fix` due to no demand, apparently.
If there's an actual need, please clarify the reasoning.
