Bug Description

I want to add chassis of power type 'LXD (virtual systems)' on MAAS 2.8.2. When I hit 'Save chassis' in GUI, the following error shows up:

Error:Invalid chassis_type: Value must be one of: mscm; msftocs; powerkvm; recs_box; seamicro15k; ucsm; virsh; vmware (not 'lxd')

See attached screenshot.

The LXD power type shouldn't be listed under chassis.

This seems related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1876855.

To add a LXD host, you should go to the "KVM" tab in the UI and pick LXD instead of virsh.

Changed in maas:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium
milestone: none → 2.8.x
