Bug Description
This is related to bug #1732522.
We have a longstanding bug that causes ephemeral boot environments to NOT properly renew their DHCP leases.
In order to mitigate this for some types of ephemeral boots (it may have edge cases for an initial commissioning or enlistment), we could use the node's "normal" network configuration, and enter static leases for the node's static or automatic addresses. This way MAAS would still know the IP address for nodes in long-running tests or rescue mode.
Since commissioning will typically reset a node's networking configuration to all-AUTO addresses, a change like this would need to be heavily tested.
