1.8rc3: Right-click then launch in new tab or new window on a filter property should load filter in new view

This is strictly UI related.

One behaviour that should be consistent with clicking on a filter property is the right-click launch in new tab or new window.

So, if I click on it it loads my filter. Then when I do launch in new tab or new window, I fully expect my filter to also be loaded in this new view. But it's not ; it's just another front page view.

That it also includes your current filter as well or that its only that one filter?

This one also get's me.

I would expect it to have the exact same result as left clicking on it in the current window, except that it happens in a new tab or window. In other words, it should include the current filter.

I agree with jhobbs. It should be the running filter which would be what's in the filter field + new filter.

So main view would have original filter and new view would be running filter = original filter + new filter

Here's an example: I have "Status: (Deployed)" in main view.

If I click on owner oil, then I get on tag hw-ok, then I get: "status:(Deployed) tags:(hw-ok)"

But if instead I do right click on hw-ok -> Launch in new tab, then I am expecting:

Main View: "status:(Deployed)"

2nd View: "status:(Deployed) tags:(hw-ok)"

I could repeat with hw-staging, then I'll have a 3rd view: "status: (Deployed) tags:(hw-staging)"

In those view I could do the same, and so one and so forth...

Another point that Jason brought up in IRC is that bookmark link does not work. I think the bookmark link goes hand in hand with the open in new tab and should be included in this bug.
